63% Believe Deporting Illegal Immigrants Would Be Good for Lower Income Americans

Sixty-three percent (63%) of voters believe that deporting illegal immigrants would be good news for working class and lower income Americans. The overwhelming majority of Republicans (84%) believe it would be good for lower income Americans, while Democrats are more closely divided (47% say it would be good, 39% bad).

If the border is secure, most voters (56%) want to go further and deport a significant number of people who have entered illegally. A third (31%) say if the border is secure we should allow those already here to stay. Seventy-eight percent (78%) of Republicans prefer securing the border and deporting those who entered illegally. Democrats are more divided with only 38% favoring deportation and 48% who say securing the border is enough.

This Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on September 30, 2024. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
