46% of Elites Think The Government Pays Too Much Attention to What Voters Want

America is founded on the ideals that government should be of and by the people, but those in power have slowly moved away from valuing the voice of everyday Americans. Forty-six percent (46%) of the Elite 1% thinks the government pays too much attention to what voters want, while 32% think the opposite. In comparison, only 9% of voters believe the government pays too much attention to what voters want, with 77% believing the government doesn’t pay enough attention to what voters want.

The powerful voices of the Elite 1% continue to crowd out the true thoughts of everyday Americans. Government leaders are easily tempted to prioritize the values of the Elite 1%, as they control the media narrative and the checkbooks that help fund projects and campaigns. It is the responsibility of those who govern to prioritize and amplify the voice of the people who give them power to enact change.

The RMG Research survey of the Elite 1% was performed September 11-26, 2023 for the Committee to Unleash Prosperity.
